Marie Suzelle Auguste, 93, passed away in Brockton, peacefully on March 19, 2025, in the comfort of her home surrounded by her family. Born in Petit-Goâve, Haiti, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Sylvie (Prunier) Auguste. Suzelle immigrated to the United States in 1980, establishing roots in the Brockton area after achieving many accomplishments in Haiti.
Suzelle finished her classical studies in Haiti, then pursued her professional degrees in Cuba. Proficient in several languages, she was a school principal for many years in Haiti until her retirement. Gifted in academics, as well as arts, Suzelle Auguste starred in the acclaimed 1984 movie "Anita" as Madam Ba.
Suzelle Auguste was the cherished mother of Marie Nativita Gina Tassy Perrier, Louise Margareth Tassy Joseph, Auguste Louis Patrick Tassy, Mireille Mery Tassy, Marie Renaud Auguste, Frantze Tamara Auguste Calarusso, Jules André Mario Auguste, Yang Richard Jerry Auguste, Isle Théo Auguste, and Monica Esepha Auguste. She was the beloved grandmother of 35 grandchildren and over 30 great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by her nephews and nieces, sons and daughters-in-law. Suzelle Auguste is connected to Bayyinah Bello, the Auguste family, The Calarusso, family, the Cameau family, the Colimon family, the Dieujuste family, the Gay family, the Jean -Jacques family, the Joseph family, the Labissière family, the Lemaine family, the Perrier family, the Pierre family, the Sagesse family, and the Timmons family,
All are welcome to her viewing on Thursday, March 27th from 8-10 a.m. at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton, funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at Christ the King Parish, 54 Lyman St., Brockton (livestreaming will be available). Private committal.
Reception to follow services at VFW Post 1046, 283 N. Quincy St, Brockton. In lieu of flowers, family kindly prefers donations be made to Christ the King Parish in Suzelle's memory.
