Marie Luta (Duverne) Polycard

Marie Luta Polycard was born on May 1st 1931 in Cayes Haiti. She died at home under hospice care at the age of 93 on March 30th, 2025 surrounded by her loved ones. She was the daughter of the late Anite Rock and Cheriza Duverne. Soeur Polycard as she is known retired from the hotel industry before she immigrated to the US in 1994. As soon as she came to Massachusetts she joined the Brockton Haitian church and has been a faithful member ever since.

Soeur Polycard is survived by her daughters Nadia Gay and Arielle Paulicar of Brockton, her son Maxime Castor of Haiti, her Goddaughter Ghislaine Chavannes of Easton, her church daughter Soeur Viviane Lamarre, her sisters Alice Duverne of Maryland and Helene Duverne of Canada, her brothers Armel Duverne of Haiti and Joubert Duverne of New York, her grandchildren Bianca Jordan and her husband Chris Jordan, Micharella Baptiste, Phillip Gay, Renee and Marlon Polycarpe, Gaïna Mapinga Castor, many cousins, nieces and nephews Linor, Emma, Risignol, Ghislene Jacqueline, Vicky, Yvie, Guilene, Murielle, Herby, Gina, Gertrude, Françoise, Jocelyne Duverne, Evelyne Paulemon, Bagnol Balan, Jenifer Deliazard, Joelle Alcide Munday, Marjorie Roche and Johana.

Soeur Polycard is preceded in death by her parents Anite Rock and Cheriza Duverne, her husband Edmond Polycard, her son Fito Polycarpe, her grandson Olivier Baptiste and her sister Rose Duverne.
