Marie Wislande (Desir) Saladin, 65, of Brockton, formerly of Brooklyn, NY, passed away peacefully at home on May 14, 2022, surrounded by her family. Born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, she was a daughter of the late Pierre Antoine and Marie T. (Martil) Desir.
Marie Wislande first earned a certificate in cosmetology before beginning her lengthy career as a certified nursing assistant. She was dedicated to her church and faith, and was an active member, from the choir to the kitchen, she loved to sing!
Marie Wislande was the beloved wife of Brunel Saladin for 17 years; loving sister of Antonine Desir-Bully of Georgia, Edna Desir of Dominican Republic, Serge Desir of New York, Marie Maude Desir of Brockton, Ernst Desir of Florida, Cosette Desir of Brockton, Rodeline Desir-Agnant of Brockton; and a cherished aunt of many nieces and nephews, including Barbara Saladin, whom she adopted, and Nerlande Desir. Marie Wislande also leaves her dear church family to mourn her passing.
All are welcome to her funeral service Saturday, May 21st at 9:30 a.m. in Brockton Tabernacle Church, 696 N. Main St., Brockton, MA 02301, with visitation in the church beginning at 8 a.m. Entombment to follow at Blue Hill Cemetery, 700 West St., Braintree, MA 02184. Reception following cemetery services to be held at Portuguese National Club, 21 Railroad Ave, Stoughton, MA 02072. Livestreaming of Marie’s funeral will be available.
