Marie Therese (Vernet) Joseph, 84, of Brockton, passed away on September 3, 2025. Born in Thomonde, Haiti, she was the daughter of the late Benoit and Marcia Vernet. Marie immigrated to the United States in 1973, living in Cambridge, MA for many years before relocating to Brockton.
Marie was the beloved wife of Jean Lunel Joseph; loving mother of Anne Love Joseph; devoted grandmother of Patrick L. Pinchinat and Sarah Jesika Idieu; and cousin of Priam Augustin and his wife Bernice, all of Brockton.
Marie was known for her caring and faithful spirit. She was deeply devoted to her family and community, and her strong faith guided her in all that she did. Always willing to help no matter the circumstance, she touched countless lives with her kindness and compassion. Her home was a place of safety and welcome, where many found comfort, guidance, and love. She was the heart of her family, a steady source of strength, faith, and love. Admired and cherished by many, she inspired all who knew her with her dedication and grace.
Marie’s legacy of love, faith, and compassion will continue to shine through the generations she leaves behind.
All are welcome to her viewing on Saturday, September 13th from 9-10 a.m. at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 N. Main St., Brockton, followed by her funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Edith Stein Church, 71 E. Main St., Brockton. Burial will follow at Melrose Cemetery, 88 N. Pearl St., Brockton. Live streaming of Marie’s funeral will be available.
