Margaret "Sandy" (Nash) Cain

Margaret “Sandy” (Nash) Cain, 80, a longtime resident of Avon, passed away Oct. 4, 2023. A daughter of
the late Earl and Christine (Chisholm) Nash, she was raised in Braintree, graduating from Braintree High
School in 1961. Sandy was employed by the town of Avon for many years, retiring as an assistant tax
collector for the town. She was an active communicant of St. Michael Church in Avon and enjoyed
making and teaching ceramics and spending time in Vermont and Canada. Sandy was the beloved wife
of Harold “Butch” Cain Jr. for 62 years; loving mother of Kathleen Terlino (and John) of Sandwich,
Stephen Cain (and Merri) of Taunton, Donna Shea (and Frank) of Taunton, and Lori Mielde (and the late
Robert) of Easton; grandmother of 10; great-grandmother of 6; aunt of many nieces and nephews; and
sister of the late Phyllis Leary (and John of Braintree), Maureen Setterlund, and Jane Whitaker. All are
welcome to calling hours Friday Oct. 6 th from 4 to 7 p.m. at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St.
Brockton, her funeral Saturday at 9 a.m. from Waitt Funeral Home, funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St.
Michael Church, 87 North Main St. Avon and burial at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. In lieu of
flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Alzheimer’s Association.
