Marc Roodson Antonio Marcelin, 74, recently of Medfield, passed away on April 30, 2025. Born in Gonaïves, Haiti, he was the son of the late Jean C. and Rose L. (Daniel) Marcelin. Marc immigrated to the United States in 1975, previously residing in Brockton and Randolph for many years before moving to Medfield.
Marc worked for Hewlett-Packard for several years until he answered his calling to pursue his passion for carpentry. He was gifted with great carpentry skills, having the ability and knowledge to “make something out of nothing” and was also a talented mechanic. Marc was a sociable person who possessed a wonderful personality and sense of humor. Although he could not hold a tune, he took great pleasure in hurting our ears with his skills or lack thereof “singing”. He was loved by all and will be greatly missed.
Marc was the beloved husband of Jocelyne (Dauphin) Marcelin; loving father of Ricardo Marcelin (and Antoinette Silva), Roodlyne Renee Marcelin, Romel A. Marcelin, Meisha Chapman (and Louis Chapman), Chaudrey “Chad” Boyd (and Angelina Boyd), and LeeAnn Yvonne Freeman; cherished grandfather of Jakigh Marcelin, Aalijah Marcelin-Rosa, Kaelyn Marcelin, Anarie Pajotte, twins Brayden and Easton Marcelin, Emiko Marcelin, Akemi Marcelin, Kyoko Marcelin, Kyomi Marcelin, Noelle A. Boyd, Zailah A. Boyd, Azahri C. Boyd, Tianna A. Boyd, Xavierto J M Freeman, and Diamante S L Freeman; great-grandfather of Milanna Marcelin; brother of Marie Carida Marlene Lapommeray and her husband Rony of France, Vannette M. Bastien of Brockton and her late husband Jacques, and Marie Jose Romain of Montréal, Canada; and an uncle of Reginald Lapommeray, Fabrice Bastien, Alexandra Bastien and Olivier Lapommeray.
To the families Marcelin, Bastien, Jeannite, Ducheine, Romain, Cyprien, Daniel, Obas, Lapommeray, Dauphin, Limage, Jean-Baptiste, all of whom shared precious moments with Roodson, as he was known to most family members, may the memories of those moments remain engraved in your hearts. Marc also leaves countless friends and acquaintances to mourn his passing.
All are welcome to his viewing on Saturday, May 17th from 8-9:15 a.m. at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton, his funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Bernadette Church, 1031 North Main St., Randolph. Burial to follow at Blue Hill Cemetery, 700 West St., Braintree. Live streaming of Marc’s funeral will be available.
