Manuel J. Rodericks, 89, passed away on March 7, 2024. Born and raised in Stoughton, he was the son of the late Manuel and Mary (Gonsalves) Rodericks, who came to Stoughton from Madeira, Portugal. He served in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1958, stationed in Germany supporting military communications. By trade, he installed heating systems for many years, then joined the U.S. Postal Service on Liberty St. in Brockton until retirement. Manny enjoyed playing golf as a member of Brockton Country Club, was an usher/collector at Our Lady of Lourdes parish, a member of Club National, and a constant presence at every sports event, dance recital, and school event his grandchildren participated in. Manny loved his family deeply. To his children, he closed every daily phone call with “I love and miss you so much,” even if he just saw them only hours before. To “the love of his life,” Patricia, who passed before him, his daily activity for the last seven years was to visit her at the cemetery two or three times a day – a ritual that brought him peace and connection to her.
He was the devoted husband of the late Patricia A. (Bukunt) Rodericks for 55 years; beloved father of Lisa Rodericks of Scituate, Linda Berolini (and Michael) of Bridgewater, Ronald Rodericks (and Andrea) of Duxbury; loving grandfather of Lauren, Jacqueline, and Caroline Berolini and Isabelle, Madeline, and RJ (Ronald J. Jr.) Rodericks; brother of the late Alice Lessa and Charles Rodericks; dear uncle of Robert Rodericks (and Lori), Brenda Sjoquist, Kenneth Lessa (and Lisa), the late Charles Rodericks (and his widow Maureen), and their families.
All are welcome to calling hours Tuesday March 12 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton, his funeral from Waitt Funeral Home Wednesday March 13 at 9:30 a.m., funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Brockton, and burial at Melrose Cemetery.
