Lorette Lozier was born on March 15, 1958, in Fond Verrettes, Haiti, the beloved daughter of Loziantil and Celanie Lozier. The youngest of eight children, she was raised in a close-knit, faith-filled family that instilled in her strong values and a deep love for God.
Lorette completed both her high school and college education in her hometown. Gifted with an entrepreneurial spirit and a heart for education, she became a multilingual educator before transitioning into business. She later moved to Port-au-Prince, and eventually to New York, where she continued to pursue her dreams.
A passionate cook, Lorette was the proud owner and operator of several stores and restaurants in both Haiti and the United States. Her most notable venture was Bon Appétit, a beloved restaurant in Queens, New York, which became a gathering place for community, culture, and faith.
Lorette was a devoted single mother to her only son, Reginald. She worked tirelessly to ensure he received the best possible education, both in Haiti and in the U.S. Her unwavering dedication to his upbringing was rooted in her belief that success comes through sacrifice, and that faith in God is the foundation for a meaningful life.
A woman of deep conviction, Lorette was committed to keeping her family united and grounded in Christ. She fervently prayed and fought for the salvation of her loved ones, always encouraging them to walk with God. Her strength, kindness, and faith left an indelible mark on everyone she met.
Lorette Lozier passed away peacefully on May 30, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She will be forever remembered for her extraordinary work ethic, entrepreneurial legacy, and the profound love she poured into her family and community. Her memory and spirit live on through all who knew and loved her.
