Lois A. (Petrulis) Sheehy, 85, a lifelong resident of Brockton, passed away peacefully on Jan. 16, 2021. She graduated from Brockton High School in 1953 and had worked as a legal secretary until devoting her life to raising her family. Lois was a communicant of St. Edward and St. Michael Churches. Her quiet and gentle nature mirrored her unselfish dedication to others. She also enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles. Lois was the wife of the late Edward M. “Ned” Sheehy for 46 years; loving mother of Edward M. Sheehy and his wife Charlotte of Franklin and Claire M. Akerman and her husband Stephen of Harwich; dear grandmother of Margaret Sheehy (and Chris Jones), Dennis Sheehy (and Marissa), Thomas Sheehy, Abby Maliff, Kyle Akerman (and Liz), and Jillian Akerman (and Mack Murray); the adoring great-grandmother of Celia Akerman; sister of the late Mary Anne O’Heir; and an aunt of many nieces and nephews. Her private family funeral Mass was held and burial was at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to your favorite charity.
