Linda J. (Strom) Brown, 74, of Brockton, passed away June 8, 2024. She was born in Waltham to the late George E. Strom and Florence (Jones) Reese. For many years she worked as a nurse’s aide in local nursing homes starting at Green Oak and retiring from Woodridge House Nursing Home. Linda loved to make people laugh and was the Chief of the Hug Police. She was a member of Red Hat Society, V.F.W. Auxiliary and Commission for the Blind. She enjoyed listening to country music and loved flowers. Linda was the beloved wife of Kevin J. Brown for over 30 years, loving mother of Jodi Hayward of Brockton, Jason Hayward of Brockton, Steven Hayward of Rhode Island and Scott Hayward of Brockton, dear grandmother of Alisha, Nicole, Jasmine and Steven; great-grandmother of Trey, Jaxson, Ariana, Zoey, Abby and Luna, and sister of the late George A. Strom. All are welcome to calling hours Monday June 17th from 4-8 p.m. and her funeral service Tuesday at 10 a.m., all at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St. Brockton with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery, Brockton. Memorial gifts may be made to Hope Hospice.
