Ligia C. Quinteros, 94, of Casa de Ramana in Framingham, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2026. Born in Monticristi, Manabi, Ecuador, she was a daughter of the late Esther Maria Gallo and Carlos Quinteros and had 13 siblings. Ligia came to the United States in 1966 and resided in Cambridge and Somerville. She worked at Copley Systems Inc. in Westwood.
She was a talented seamstress, designing and sewing clothing for herself and family as well as for home décor; she frequently visited Chinatown to purchase fine fabrics and supplies for her custom creations. Ligia was also skilled at other handcrafting such as tatting, crocheting and knitting. She loved flower gardening, especially yellow roses. Being her favorite “good luck” color, she gifted family yellow items to spread best wishes.
Ligia leaves 2 siblings in New York and Florida and many nieces and nephews. Among them are Sonia Perez (the daughter of her late close sister Genoveva R. Palma) and her husband Eduardo of Brockton and their children Michael, Christopher and Nickole.
All are welcome to her memorial gathering on Sunday July 12, 2026 at 12 noon followed by her memorial service at 1 p.m. at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St. Brockton MA 02301.
