Leonard P. “Lenny” Yenush, 89, of Bridgewater, formerly of Brockton, died peacefully on Nov. 15, 2025 at home surrounded by his loving family. Son of the late William and Anna (Karbardinskas) Yenush, he was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War. Lenny was a graduate of Northeastern University and had a long career in banking. Among the institutions where he was employed were Plymouth Home National Bank where he met his future bride who was also his boss, and Campello Cooperative Bank where he was Treasurer for 20 years. He was also active in local civic organizations: Brockton Noontime Lions Club and Young Executives Club. Lenny enjoyed golfing, skiing, playing bocce and shuffleboard, attending the Brockton YMCA several times a week and serving as a past president of High Pond Residents Association.
But anyone who knew Lenny knows his real legacy wasn’t in titles or memberships-it was in the way he loved his family and lived his life. He was larger than life, endlessly fun, and the first one to show up. Whether it was a soccer game, basketball tournament, softball double-header, Little League, concerts or one of many horse shows, Dad was there-cheering the loudest, smiling the widest. He loved telling stories of the people he encountered during his journey. He was always listening to country music, loved to dance and watch his son-in-law’s band, Little Jed and the Phat Daddies, where he was an honorary member. His biggest legacy was how much he loved his wife and children.
Lenny was the beloved husband of the late Eleanor M. (Lynch) Yenush for 57 years until her passing in 2019, loving father of Laureen Horton (and David) of Bridgewater, Leanne (and Arlen Brooks) of Dorchester, Lisa of Bridgewater, Lynne (and Dolores Bernal) of Valencia, Spain and Leslie Stefanowicz (and Jed) of Millis; dear grandfather of Collin Augustine Jr., Liz Augustine, Casey Nash (and Tom), and Bennett, Maggie and Dory Stefanowicz (Jillian Larkin); great-grandfather of Caileen, Colby, Cheyenne and the late Calisie; brother of the late Lillian Stepanski, Edward Yenush and Felix Yenush and an uncle to his many nephews.
Lenny lived fully, loved deeply, and left a mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
All are welcome to calling hours Wednesday November 19th from 4 to 7 p.m. in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton, his funeral at Waitt Funeral Home Thursday November 20th at 11 a.m., and burial at Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater.
