Kathleen V. “Bunny” (Coneys) McDonald, 88, of Avon, passed away at home on February 7, 2025. Born in Boston, one of six daughters of the late Walter F. and Nora (O’Halloran) Coneys, she grew up in Mission Hill and was a 1954 graduate of Mission High School.
Bunny was devoted to her family and home and cherished the years spent with her tight-knit family. She was an active longtime member of St. Michael Church and enjoyed participating in the various events over the years. Bunny was proud of her beautiful Irish Heritage and was able to visit Ireland twice, trips she held close to her heart. In the summer months, she could often be found down the Cape at the beach, soaking in the sun with family and friends.
Her yard was her haven, she loved tending to her beautiful flowers and plants and loved to spend as much time outside as possible. Bunny valued the company of her faithful group of friends and treasured the times they shared together. You couldn’t walk into her home without being offered a snack, meal, or beverage, it was called "the fridge tour”. Bunny also had a passion for shopping and a flair for finding bargains.
Kathleen was the wife of the late Harold J. McDonald for 60 years until his passing in 2017; beloved mother of Joseph McDonald (and Jean) of Bridgewater, Kathleen McDonald (and Scott Hulien) of Avon, Walter McDonald of Avon, Anne Marie Drinkwater of E. Wareham, Mary Beth Nauss (and Ed) of Lexington, South Carolina, Harold McDonald Jr. (and Lisa) of E. Bridgewater, Patricia Nelson (and Mike) of Westwood, and John McDonald (and Allison) of Randolph; loving grandmother of Ryan, Joseph, Megan, Marc, Jon, Sarah, Robert, Christopher, Sean, Alicia, Vanessa, Christine, Matthew, Brendan and Elizabeth; great-grandmother of Addie, Max, and Amelia; sister of Barbara Buckley (and John) of Cotuit, and the late Mary Brennan, Fran Couturier, Dottie Flatley, and Norita Johannessen; and an aunt of many nieces and nephews.
