Julie A. Bagdon, 82, of Brockton, passed away November 1, 2024 after a lengthy period of failing health. She was the loving daughter of the late Lawrence and Ruth (Coman) Mack. After graduating from Abington High School and the Chandler School for Women, Julie worked as a legal secretary for a law firm in Boston, and then spent several years at home raising their daughter and being a homemaker. She was last employed at Knapp Shoe where she worked for 10 years prior to retiring. Along with her mother-in-law Mae, she was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter 87 for many years.
Julie was her happiest in her warm cozy home with her family. She was a wonderful cook who enjoyed trying new recipes and creating wonderful things to eat in her kitchen, spending many years perfecting the crust for her delicious apple pie. She enjoyed entertaining family and friends, was incredibly thoughtful, and had a gift for making people feel valued and loved. She was a sensitive soul with a compassionate heart who often put the needs of others before her own.
She was the best friend and beloved wife of Jeffrey L. Bagdon for 60 years; loving mother of Lee-Ann Bagdon McSheffrey (and the late Bryan McSheffrey) of Bridgewater; proud and devoted Nannie of Madeline Rose McSheffrey; sister of Eleanor Mack of Mashpee, Laura Mack Pratt of Brockton and the late Victoria Mack; sister-in-law of Marie Bagdon (and the late Leon “Lee” Bagdon) and Jay Bagdon (and the late Naomi Bagdon); and aunt of several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are Friday November 8th from 9 to 11 a.m. followed by her funeral beginning at 11 a.m. at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton. Burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater. For those who wish, memorial gifts may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
