Joseph Wilner Maurice, 68, passed away on April 26, 2023. He was the 3rd born child to parents Pierre Maurice and Marianne Bruno on October 12th 1954 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Unfortunately, Wilner lost his mother at a young age due to cancer. Despite this tragic loss he was raised in a loving home with his father and siblings. He attended Lycee Alexandre Pétion for High School and went on to study soil management and crop production at Faculté d’agronomie et de Médecine vétérinaire (College and University). Wilner deeply loved his home country and traveled back and forth between the states and Haiti before finally settling in Brockton, Massachusetts in 1986. Wilner was well known and affectionately called “Big” by those closest to him. A fitting name for a man with a big captivating presence. He was a hardworking provider who loved to laugh, socialize and watch all sports but he was an avid fan of futbol (soccer). Though he had some hardships in life, Wilner exuded pride and walked with confidence leaving a lasting impression on those that encountered him. He never failed to show up as his best self, dapper in attire with a signature scent to match. “Big” was a husband, father, grandfather and brother. Fathering seven children and grandfather to eight grandchildren. This is a deep loss for the family and he will be missed by his loved ones.
Joseph Wilner Maurice is survived by his wife Marie Carole Mathurin; father of Fara Maurice and her children, grandson Isaiah Louis Lamour and granddaughter Illiana Ariana Lamour, father of Soljenistsyne Wilhelm Maurice and daughter-in-law Rachel Julien-Maurice and their children, grandsons Rane Nathaniel Maurice, Rylei Sebastien Maurice, Roman Xavier Maurice, father of Stanley Jean-Charles, father of Eureka Ravilus and her child, granddaughter Leanna Elizabeth Ravilus, father of Vanessa Fernandes, father of the late Jeffrey Jean-Charles and his child, grandson Nasir Jean-Charles, father of Wilner Maurice I and fiancée Briana Janelle Greene and their child, grandson Niko Amari Maurice; and a brother to Pierre Albert Maurice, Francoise Duclervil Printemps, Marie Altida Maurice Virgelin, Beatrice Maurice Toussaint and the late Gerard Maurice and Wilkins Maurice.
