Joseph R. Healy, 64, a lifelong resident of Brockton, passed away Dec. 13, 2023. Born in Norwood, he was a son of the late Florence A. (Connelly) Healy and Richard Healy. Joe attended Howard School and North Jr. High School, and graduated from Brockton High School. He had worked as a forklift operator at Shaw’s Warehouse for many years then had various part-time jobs. He grew up in the North End of Brockton and spent time at Walker’s Playground where he gained a love of sports. He coached baseball for over 25 years for North Little League and the Vega Club team, and refereed basketball. Joe will be sadly missed by his many friends and family members. He was the beloved brother of Daniel J. Healy and his wife Laurie of Brockton and Mary Healy of Wareham, a loving uncle of Danielle and her husband Gino Lavezzo of California, and Patrick and Matthew Healy, and a great-uncle of Benjamin Lavezzo.
All are welcome to memorial calling hours Thursday December 21 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St. Brockton and his funeral from Waitt Funeral Home Friday December 22 at 9:30 a.m. and his memorial Mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Edith Stein Parish, 71 East Main St. Brockton. Private family committal at a later date. Memorial gifts may be made to your favorite charity.
