Joseph G. Gerry, 98, a lifelong resident of Brockton, passed away June 20, 2024. He was born here to the late Joseph B. and Stefania (Geniusz) Gerry and graduated from Brockton High School in 1943. “The Chief”, as he was affectionately known to friends and family, owned and operated Gerry’s Farm on Pleasant St. in Brockton all his life. When he wasn’t out in the Canadian wilderness living the adventurous life tall tales are made of, he was out cultivating in his fields, in the city he loved. He was the beloved husband of Dolores A. “Dolly” (Pazyra) Gerry for 74 years; loving father of Andrew J. Gerry (and Pam) of McNeal, Arizona, Joseph H. Gerry of Brockton, Carl R. Gerry (and Cynthia) of Brockton, Christopher M. Gerry (and Mary) of Brockton and Julie Clark of Brockton; dear grandfather of Jonathan (and Lisa), Gregory, Carly (and Chris), Anna (and Brian), Katharine (and Ben), Kristin (and Chris), Emily (and Jeff), Alexandra (and Sean), and Stephen (and Steve); great-grandfather of Kaiden, Lila, Casey, Colin, Christopher, Theodore, Elise, Maximus, Aurelia, Oberen, Cecilia, Michaela and Joseph; brother of Martha Wagner of Louisville, Kentucky and the late Zenon Gerry and Leonarda Monkiewicz; brother-in-law of Roberta Pazyra; with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
