Jonathan C. Matte, 41, of North Easton, passed away Feb. 19, 2024. Born in Brockton, he was the beloved son of Marlene C. (Hirl) Matte of Brockton and the late Roger R. Matte. Jonathan graduated from the Perkins School for the Blind. He attended Massasoit Community College where he hosted a radio show. He competed in national contests for Braille reading. Jonathan loved music, especially Frank Sinatra, and was a former lector at Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Brockton. He was an avid Star Trek fan and appeared in the Arthur cartoon second season episode called “How the Cookie Crumbles” which featured Perkins School students.
In addition to his parents, he was the loving life partner of Samantha Kincaid; brother of Roger Matte (& Jennifer) of Florida, Thomas Matte (& Janet) of New Hampshire and David Matte (& Judy) of New York; he also leaves aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Following cremation, all are welcome to his memorial calling hours Saturday, March 2 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. followed by his memorial service at 1 p.m., all at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St. Brockton. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Perkins School for the Blind.
