Jonas "John" Varnas

Jonas “John” Varnas, 95, of Mashpee, died peacefully March 26, 2021. Native of Hazeikiai, Lithuania, he was the son of the late Jonas and Julia (Sirvinskas) Varoneckas. He came to the U.S. and served in the Army during the Korean War. He met and married Eleanora (Vitkauskas) Varnas. John was an electrical engineer and worked for GTE Sylvania and General Dynamics for many years until retirement. He and his wife were former longtime residents of Brockton and lived in various towns on the South Shore until moving to Cape Cod to Mashpee over 25 years ago. Principal in his life was his spiritual faith. In addition to his wife he leaves a small close circle of friends. A private committal with military honors will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Brockton.
