John F. Manning

John F. Manning, 87, of Brockton since 1965, passed away on Sept. 12, 2023. Native of Dorchester, he served in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1957. After earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering he was employed in mettalurgy testing for Factory Mutual Insurance in Norwood for 30 years until retirement. John was a season ticket holder for over 50 years for Boston College Eagles football and hockey, enjoying games with his close friend the late late Francis X. Duffy.

John was the husband of the late Patricia A. (O’Brien) Manning; beloved father of John F. Manning Jr. of Brockton and Brian P. Manning (& his companion Bethanne Higgins) of Bridgewater, and the late Michael J. Manning; brother of Thomas Manning of Walpole, Margaret Mayo of Randolph, Dorothy Pasquale of Abington, Kathleen Pimental of Quincy and the late Maureen Whitcher, Jeannie Hernon, and James Manning; and an uncle of many nieces and nephews.

All are welcome to calling hours Tuesday Sept. 19th from 10 a.m.-12 noon and his funeral service at 12 noon, all at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton, and burial at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton.
