John Massaro, 86, of Brockton, passed away on February 11, 2026. Born in Airola, Benevento, Italy, he was the son of the late Tiberio and Maria Massaro. Hardworking and dedicated to his family, John worked in shoe manufacturing for many years, first at Luizzi Shoes for 25 years and then Stride-Rite for 14 years until his retirement. Never one to rest, after his retirement he worked at Brockton Hospital for many years and was also a skilled landscaper. He loved time spent with his family and enjoyed gardening and wine making.
John was the beloved husband of Maria (Ciaramella) Massaro for over 65 years; loving father of Tiberio Massaro, Pasquale Massaro, Mario Massaro, John Massaro, and Francisco Massaro and his wife Jenn, all of Brockton; cherished grandfather of Francisco Massaro Jr., Marissa Massaro, Dominic Massaro, and Dante Massaro, all of Brockton; great-grandfather of Francisco A. Massaro; brother of Tony Massaro, Lucrezia Massaro, Pascalina Massaro, and Anna Massaro, all of Italy; and an uncle of many nieces and nephews.
All are welcome to calling hours on Tuesday, February 17th from 4-7 p.m. at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton, his funeral service on Wednesday, February 18th at 10 a.m. at Waitt Funeral Home and burial at Melrose Cemetery, 88 North Pearl St., Brockton.
