John F. Manning Jr., 62, of Brockton, passed away suddenly on April 7, 2024. Born in Stoneham, he was the son of the late John F. Sr. and Patricia A. (O’Brien) Manning. He was a 1979 graduate of Cardinal Spellman High School. John was a member of Laborers International Union Local #133 in Quincy for 32 years and was currently employed by Turner Construction in the Seaport area of Boston.
An avid golfer, he was a longtime member of the Brockton Country Club. John was also a member of Club National and the Polish White Eagles. He was a passionate Boston sports team fan and enjoyed the scene. John had a larger than life personality and had a gravitational pull, making friends easily. He cared for others and always cheered for the underdog. The family is deeply saddened by his sudden loss but finds comfort knowing he passed doing what he loved.
John was the husband of Elza (Dias) Manning; dear brother of Brian P. Manning and his companion Bethanne Higgins of Bridgewater, and the late Michael J. Manning; beloved friend of Sirlene Chaves; and a nephew, cousin, and friend of many.
