Joan M. (Long) Pereira

Joan M. (Long) Pereira, 85, of Avon, passed away on February 6, 2024. Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Albert D. and Isabelle G. (Jamieson) Long. Joan began her career at Bank of Boston in 1955, retiring in 1971 as a supervisor. She later worked as a manager at Ranfac in Avon for 18 years.

A longtime communicant of St. Michael Church in Avon, she was active in church events and enjoyed volunteering at their craft fair. Joan was a member of the Avon Council on Aging and her interest in ceramics led her to create “Country Couples Ceramics”, a group she ran from 1977-2014.

Joan was the wife of the late Robert J. Pereira; loving mother of Scott P. Pereira of VT and his late wife Barbara R. Pereira; beloved grandmother of Brandon Pereira of Avon, Jake Pereira of Waltham, and Shawn Pereira of Bellingham; sister-in-law of William Donovan and family of Hanson and Philip Donovan of Quincy.

All are welcome to calling hours Tues., Feb. 13th from 4-7 p.m. at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 N. Main St., Brockton, her funeral from Waitt Funeral Home Wed., Feb. 14th at 9:30 a.m., funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Michael Church, 87 N. Main St., Avon, and burial at St. Michael Cemetery, Avon.
