Jeannette M. (Chuckran) Shalginewicz, 73, formerly of East Bridgewater for over 30 years, passed away at home in Wareham surrounded by her loving family under hospice care. She was a native of Brockton, a daughter of the late Beverly and Anthony Salamone and the late Samuel Chuckran. She graduated from Brockton High School in 1969. Jeannette worked as a urology assistant at a Brockton medical office for over 30 years. In 1981 Jeannette married Chet Shalginewicz and together they raised their 3 sons in Brockton and East Bridgewater. Jeannette was a Harley-Davidson motorcycle rider and enthusiast and worked at Monty’s in West Bridgewater in her spare time. She enjoyed traveling and especially liked Myrtle Beach, South Carolina in recent years.
When Chet suddenly passed at home in 2009 life changed for Jeannette and their sons Dwight, Dwayne, and Kevin. They created an annual memorial motorcycle run to benefit East Bridgewater High School students with scholarships.
Jeannette was an unforgettable person, and to know her was to love her. She spoke the truth, always did the right thing, and lived by the Golden Rule. Jeannette loved unconditionally, had a great sense of humor, and didn’t have time to fear the future. In spite of many health challenges through the years her indomitable spirit kept her living and loving everyone without judgment.
Wherever she went she made friends and her door was always open. She enjoyed cooking and no one would be hungry when Jeannette was on the scene. Jeannette fed family and friends at home and even delivered lunches to everyone at work.
Jeannette leaves her beloved family: her three sons and their wives: Dwight Crosby and Alisha of Rochester, Dwayne Crosby and Gina of East Bridgewater, and Kevin Crosby and Erica of Carver; grandchildren Shanna, the late Alecia, D.J., Taryn, Alexis, Lil D., Brianna, and Trevor; great-grandchildren Aliyah, Alana, Avi, Logan, and Carson; her brothers and sisters: Raymond Chuckran of Raynham, Sam Chuckran of Plymouth, Russell Chuckran of Raynham, Brenda Johnston of Whitman, Charlie Chuckran and his wife Michelle of Virginia, and Michelle Kirshkaln and her husband Jon of East Bridgewater; many nieces and nephews; and a countless number of friends. She joins in eternal life an many relatives and friends including Chet, her parents, granddaughter Alecia, and mother-in-law Irene.
All are welcome to her calling hours Saturday, November 23rd from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and her funeral service at 3 p.m. all at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St. Brockton.
