Jean Claude Garcia Brown, 80, of Brockton, passed away on May 14, 2021. Born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, he was the son of the late Edward Brown and Volta Garcia. He was the beloved husband of Marie Gabrielle Pierre; loving father of Magalie Brown, Nancy Brown, Steve Brown, and the late Sonia Brown; and a grandfather of many.
Jean Claude earned a degree in accounting in 1966 at Ecole de Commerce Maurice Laroche in Haiti. He migrated to the United States in 1966, where he joined the U.S. Army from 1967 to 1972, working in the artillery branch. Jean Claude then migrated to Canada in 1973 and joined the Navy League of Canada, appointed as an officer with the rank of Lieutenant CCN in 1985. He returned to the U.S. in 1993. Jean Claude worked at Roslyn Heights Post Office in New York from 1994 to 2001 as a clerk. He obtained his U.S. citizenship in 2000, a proud accomplishment. Jean Claude later worked at Worldwide Flight Service, LaGuardia Airport as Security Check Point from 2001 to 2012. He moved to Boston and transferred to Logan International Airport where he spent a few months until his retirement.
All are welcome to his funeral service on Friday, May 28th at 10 a.m. in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton, with viewing in the funeral home beginning at 9 a.m. Private committal.
