Jean Marcel Pierre

Jean Marcel Pierre, 93, of Mattapan, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2023. Born in Leogane, Haiti, the eldest of ten children, he was the son of the late Bertier and Vilna Pierre. Devoted to his church, he enjoyed singing and daily prayer and was a longtime communicant of St. Angela Catholic Church in Mattapan. A skilled farmer and savvy businessman, he worked at Beth Israel Hospital for many years until his retirement.

Marcel was the beloved husband of Marie Andrelie (Fredling) Pierre; loving father of Edeline Dautruche and her husband Amedee, Jean Marie Pierre and his wife, Magalie Rogene and her husband Steev, all of Brockton, and the late Jean Luckner Pierre; cherished grandfather of Taisha Rogene, Neissa B. Rogene, Christerline Dautruche, Samantha Pierre, Masinio Pierre, Dilivio Pierre, Naika Pierre, Jadel Pierre, Clyde Pierre, Lydia Pierre, and Kenny Pierre; great-grandfather of Samuel Pierre and Taylor Roberson; brother of Bertin Pierre of Haiti; and an uncle of many nieces and nephews.

All are welcome to calling hours Friday, Sept. 22nd from 5-8 p.m. in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 N. Main St., Brockton, his funeral from Waitt Funeral Home Saturday, Sept. 23rd at 9 a.m., funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at Christ the King Parish, 54 Lyman St., Brockton, and burial at Melrose Cemetery, 88 N. Pearl St., Brockton. Live streaming of Marcel’s funeral Mass will be available.
