Januariusz "Jerry" Szydlowski

Januariusz “Jerry” Szydlowski, 89, of Avon, passed away Jan. 24, 2023. Native of Poland, he proudly served in the Army National Guard and  proclaimed his slogan “America is the greatest country in the world, land with opportunity”. He worked as a machinist for Avon Sole for 20 years then for Ainslee Corp. in Braintree for 20 years prior to retirement. Jerry enjoyed gardening and traveling and was a member of Polish White Eagles. He was the husband of the late Viola (Svedine) Szydlowski, beloved father of Diane Merrill and her husband Steve of Avon and the late Carol Ann and Jana Beth Szydlowksi, brother of the late Kristina Ataman and Ernest Szydlowski, and leaves nieces and nephews. All are welcome to calling hours Sunday Jan. 29th from 1 to 4 p.m. and his funeral Monday Jan. 30th at 10 a.m. at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St. Brockton with burial at Evergreen Cemetery in Stoughton. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to your favorite charity.
