James Dillon Obituary

James F. Dillon, 83, of Brockton, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on July 23, 2026. He was the son of the late John J. and Anna A. (LaCouture) Dillon. He proudly served his country in the 82nd Airborne Division of the United States Army.

He was skilled with his hands and was the owner of A-1 Wood Floors for over 50 years. Jim was a member of Club National and enjoyed traveling, fishing, car shows, and time spent at the beach with his family. He had a knack for storytelling and captivated everyone he met by simply taking the time to talk to them. Above all, Jim’s family meant the most to him. His two grandsons were his pride and joy, and he never missed an opportunity to let them know how proud he was of them. Jim was always there to help family, friends and neighbors whenever they needed it. Jim’s departure has left a great void within his family, but his legacy of love and dedication will live on.

Jim was the beloved husband of June R. (Maguire) Dillon for 60 wonderful years; loving father of Michelle M. Dillon of Kingston, and the late Shawn T. Dillon; devoted “Bumpa” of Joseph J. Dwyer, Derek A. Dwyer Jr., Stephanie Dillon, and Meghan Dillon; brother of Geraldine Clark, Louis Dillon, and the late Marie Charleston and Kathleen Christian; brother-in-law of John and Cherie Maguire, and the late Steven Maguire; and an uncle of many nieces and nephews.

His funeral service at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne will be held at a later date.
