Jack E. Card, 81, a lifelong resident of Brockton, passed away on November 19, 2024. He was the son of the late Philip and Marion (Hopwood) Card and a 1961 graduate of Brockton High School. Jack served honorably in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.
He was the municipal liaison officer for Eastern Edison and Mass Electric for over 30 years and was the Deputy Director of Emergency Management for the City of Brockton for four years. Jack was devoted to his Catholic faith and was a communicant of St. Edith Stein Church. He was known as “Coach Card” for local Little League teams and Garland Mills Midget Football. He most enjoyed his time with his wife watching their grandson Cooper play hockey and baseball.
Jack was the beloved husband of Anne M. (Volpone) Card for over 58 years; loving father of Jack M. Card (and his wife Victoria) of Brockton and James M. Card (and Tracy Stephens) of Ormond Beach, FL; devoted Grandpa of Cooper J. Card at UMASS Amherst; brother of Michael Card (and his wife Ruthie) of Freetown and the late Robert Card (and his wife Diane).
All are welcome to calling hours Sunday, Nov. 24th from 4-6 p.m. at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 N. Main St., Brockton, his funeral from Waitt Funeral Home Monday, Nov. 25th at 9:30 a.m., funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Edith Stein Church, 71 E. Main St., Brockton and burial at Melrose Cemetery, 88 N. Pearl St., Brockton.
