Ismaelites Gerard, 94, of West Bridgewater, passed away peacefully at home on October 17, 2021. Born in Cayes, Haiti, she was a daughter of the late Lormil Gerard and Phigena Cenat. She immigrated to the United States in 1984, first living in Boston for many years until moving to Brockton in 1993, where she resided until a few years ago. Ismaelites was a people person, helping anyone in need, including strangers. She was loving and kind and enjoyed making others laugh with her sarcastic, witty humor. Ismaelites was an integral part of several individuals' lives and was a surrogate mother and grandmother to so many people who adored her. Devoted to her faith, she loved going to church and daily prayer. She will be greatly missed and forever loved.
Ismaelites was the beloved wife of Jean Edner Synopcy for over 70 years; loving mother of Marie E. Louis of West Bridgewater and the late Reynold Synopcy; cherished grandmother of Gina Louis of Bridgewater and Herve Louis and family of Stoughton; great-grandmother of Langston Louis, Zora Louis, and Quincy; sister of the late Rosamante Gerard, Hermogene Gerard, and Violette Gerard Dieudonne; aunt of Agnes Rosembert Lubin and Family, Ernande Gerard and family, Reynold Gerard and family, Therius Rosembert Andre and family, Mona Laguerre and Family, Buteau Blaise and Family, Sony Blaise and Family, Rosanie Rosembert and Family, Annuel Dieudonne and family, the late Rosenor Rosembert and Family, the late Rochel Rosembert and Family, the late Phanuel Dieudonne and family, the late Roseve Rosembert and family, and the late Serdieu Rosembert and Family. Ismaelites also leaves many additional family members and friends to mourn her passing.
All are welcome to her funeral service on Saturday, October 30th at 9 a.m. in The First Haitian Church of Brockton “The Rock”, 940 Main St., Brockton with viewing in the church beginning at 8 a.m. Burial to follow at Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater.
