Herminia Vega, 79, of Brockton since 2024, passed away May 16, 2026. Born in Quebradilla, Puerto Rico, she was a daughter of the late Victor Luciano and Vicenta Avila. She was devoted to her family and home. Herminia enjoyed gardening and cooking. She resided in Billerica for 36 years prior to coming to Brockton. She was married to the late Benjamin Vega for 52 years until his passing in 2018. Herminia was the beloved mother of Luis Antonio Vega of Brockton and the late Israel Vega who passed in 2018 and Louis F., Benjamin Jr. and Jose who passed in 1971; the loving “Abuela” grandmother of Adora Angel Vega and great-grandmother of Lillian Brozonos and Robert Deniso; sister of Dominga “Coca” Luciano of Puerto Rico and the late Amelia Romano; sister-in-law of Maria Carmen Vega of Brockton; a dear aunt of many nieces and nephews including Maria Romano, Esmeralda Luciano, Jose Perez, Juan Marrero and the late Miguel Marrero (and his wife Alessandra and their son Nicholas); and close friend of Carla Vibert. All are welcome to calling hours Saturday May 23rd from 10 a.m. to 12 noon and her prayer service at 12 noon at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St. Brockton. Cremation and private burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett at a later date.
