With broken hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Hendrix, who left this world far too soon at the tender age of four. Though his time with us was brief, the love he gave and the light he brought will remain with us forever.
Hendrix was a joyful soul, full of warmth and wonder. His big, beautiful brown eyes held a world of curiosity, kindness, and laughter. Every room lit up when he entered, and his sweet smile could melt even the weariest heart. He was gentle and loving, with a spirit far beyond his years—a little hand always ready to hold yours, and a giggle that could chase away the clouds.
He found joy in the simple things: chasing bubbles, collecting rocks, swinging in his sensory swing, running, climbing, and exploring his surroundings. He had a laugh that made everyone smile, a hug that could ease the hardest days, and a heart so big it touched everyone who knew him.
Though our arms ache from the emptiness his absence leaves, our hearts are full of the love he gave so freely. His memory will live on in every whispered bedtime story, every shared smile, and every moment of unexpected joy.
Hendrix is survived by his loving parents, Kayla Burgess and Malik Cooley-Walker, siblings, Cayden James Burgess, Gabriel Liam Burgess, Wyatt Mason Burgess, Kai Rakim Cooley-Walker, Jade Reyna Cooley-Walker, Hazel Drix Gorski, half brother Zayn Rakim Cooley-Walker, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends and family who cherished him deeply.
A celebration of Hendrix’s life will be held on Sunday, August 3, 2025 from 2-4 p.m., with a closing time of remembrance at 3:30 p.m. at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton. We welcome all who loved him to join us in honoring his beautiful spirit. Rest gently, sweet Hendrix. You were our sunshine, our joy, and our greatest gift. You will be loved forever and missed beyond words. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the National Drowning Prevention Alliance (https://ndpa.org/support-ndpa/).
