Harold E. Jones Jr., 77, of Brockton, passed away on September 23, 2024. Born in Boston, son of the late Harold E. and Mary (Steems) Jones, he resided in Dorchester for many years before moving to Brockton in 2002. Harold is survived by his wife Lizbeth R. (Roper) Jones and son Theodore B. “Teddy” Jones.
Harold served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era and served in the U.S. Army Reserve for over 20 years. Harold earned a Master’s Degree from Harvard University and began his career as a social worker and later worked in education for many years until his retirement. He enjoyed reading, watching Westerns, and gardening. Harold had a great love for swimming, teaching swimming classes over the years, and had previously worked as a lifeguard, during that time meeting his future wife.
All are welcome to visitation on Saturday, September 28th from 10-11 a.m. followed by an 11 a.m. celebration of life at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton. Private burial at the Massachusetts’s National Cemetery, Bourne.
