Gregorios "Greg" Stellou

Gregorios “Greg” Stellou, 79, of Bridgewater, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Greg was the beloved husband of Claire Stellou for nearly 50 years, an anniversary they would have celebrated on May 25th; devoted father to Effie Egan and her husband Kenneth of Bridgewater, and Chrysanthi Stellou and her wife Diane of East Taunton. He was a proud and loving “Papou” to Kenny Jr., Christopher, Brooklyn, and newborn Emersyn.

Born on June 26, 1945, in Volos, Greece, to George and Efthehia Stellou, Greg was one of four children and was predeceased by his brothers Niko, Dimitri, and Athedi, all of Greece. In his early years, he worked as a merchant marine, traveling the world and collecting stories he loved to share. He immigrated to the United States in the 1970s and spent many years working at the MBTA, where he was loved and respected by his coworkers.

Greg was a longtime resident of Brockton before settling in Bridgewater in 2020. He enjoyed time at the Greek club, playing poker, and taking trips to the casino—but nothing brought him more joy than being with his family and supporting his grandchildren at their sporting events. He is also survived by many loving in-laws, nieces, and nephews, both in the United States and Greece, who will remember him fondly. His humor, warmth, and loyalty will be deeply missed.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, May 8th from 9-10:30 a.m. at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton, followed by his funeral service at 11 a.m. at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 457 Oak St., Brockton. Interment will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery, 483 N. Main St., West Bridgewater.
