Godson Antoine Obituary

Godson Antoine, 40, of Taunton, passed away peacefully at home on January 8, 2026. He was born in 1985 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, to Marie Gertha Antoine and Beausejour Antoine. At the age of seven, he immigrated to the United States with his parents and his two brothers, Marc and Nickson, beginning a new chapter filled with resilience, growth, and opportunity.

Seven years after coming to America, Godson welcomed his first and only baby sister, Jessica into the world—a moment he had long hoped and prayed for. In areas where his father was absent, Godson stepped fully into the role of a father figure, filling those gaps with unwavering love, protection, and guidance. From that moment on, he carried responsibility not as a burden, but as a purpose.

Godson grew up as a cross-country athlete and a deeply artistic soul. From a young age, he demonstrated remarkable creativity and discipline—building handcrafted cabinets and creating artwork that was featured at the Fuller Craft Museum when he was just sixteen years old. He was a builder by nature, gifted with both his hands and his heart.

As the eldest of four siblings, Godson was exceptionally nurturing and devoted. He cared for his siblings by cooking meals, driving them to school, and ensuring they were always supported and protected. His love showed up before words ever did. He was inspired by close family friend Leslie Dennis and her family, who played an important role in shaping his character and values.

Godson was a devoted son who took special care of his mother in quiet, meaningful ways. Without ever being asked, he would clean the backyard, cut the grass, paint the kitchen, fix what was broken, and improve what could be better. He helped transform her backyard into something truly beautiful—an extension of the care, intention, and pride he put into everything he touched. His presence made her home a place of comfort and peace.

As a brother, Godson was both playful and deeply dependable. He brought joy into everyday life—wrestling, playing basketball, throwing football, and sharing long days together. He loved surprising his siblings and creating memories that remain vivid today. Simple moments—riding around in the old Toyota Camry, laughing and talking—became lifelong bonds.

Godson worked tirelessly and provided in every sense of the word. Even after long days, he found joy in caring for his family, whether it was bringing home Wendy’s or sitting down to a simple meal made by his mother. He was a steady rock—strong, reliable, and selfless.

A chef, grill master, and natural gatherer, Godson brought people together, especially during New England Patriots game days. Through food, football, and family, he created traditions that kept everyone connected and moving forward.

Later in life, Godson found love with his fiancée, Raydilis—lovingly known as Lily—and embraced her daughter, Bianka, as his own. Together, they worked tirelessly to build a home and a life rooted in love, shared dreams, and determination—manifesting the American dream they envisioned side by side and looked forward to growing into together.

In August of last year, Godson was diagnosed with cancer. Despite an incredibly difficult battle, he remained selfless until the very end—constantly thinking about how he could continue to care for and protect his family even as his strength waned. His courage, generosity, and love never left him.

Godson now joins his beloved brother Nickson and his father Beausejour in heaven. Though his life was far too short, his legacy is immeasurable. He will be remembered as a builder, a protector, a father figure, a loyal friend, and a man whose everyday acts of love defined a life of quiet greatness. God bless his soul.
