Gloria M. (Harris) Fortin

Gloria M. (Harris) Fortin, 86, a lifelong resident of Brockton, passed away July 13, 2021 at Ruth McLain Hospice House. Born in Brockton on March 17, 1935, she was a daughter of the late E. Clifford and Ida (Paulding) Harris. Gloria graduated from Brockton High School in 1953. She was retired from many years as a cashier at Shaw’s East in Brockton. Dedicated to all her extended family, she also enjoyed sewing, daily walks, reading, puzzles and country music. Gloria was the beloved wife of the late Lawrence H. Fortin; loving mother of Linda Murphy (and her husband Paul) of East Bridgewater, Brenda Parsons of Middleboro, Rhonda Callahan (and her husband Paul) of Foxboro and Glenn Fortin of Brockton; devoted grandmother of Kristen, Katie, Lindsay, Lauren, Shauna, Leah, Alisha and Josh; adoring great-grandmother of Trevor, Camden, Blake, Josephine and Henry; close sister of Marjorie Richards and her husband Walter of Brockton, Clifford Harris and his wife Sheila of Brockton and Robert Harris and his wife Joanne of Plymouth; and a dear aunt of many nieces and nephews. All are welcome to calling hours Monday July 19th 4 - 7 p.m. at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton, her funeral Tuesday July 20th at 10 a.m. in Waitt Funeral Home and burial at Melrose Cemetery.
