Gerard J. Mottau, 84, of Brockton, passed away om February 24, 2025. Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Edward F. and Lillian G. (O’Rourke) Mottau. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and worked in computer assembly and installation for many years until his retirement. Gerry was an auto enthusiast and enjoyed going to car shows, airplane shows, New England Dragway with his son, flea markets, and visiting friends. He had a great sense of humor who loved listening to oldies rock and roll music.
Gerry was the beloved father of Gerard J. Mottau Jr. of Brockton; brother of Marylou Fitzsimmons and her husband George of St. Louis, MO, Robert Mottau and his wife Mabel of Avon, and the late Edward S. Mottau and David Mottau; and an uncle of many nieces and nephews.
All are welcome to calling hours Thursday, February 27th from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton and his committal service at 1:30 p.m. at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
