Obituary

Geraldine Rose (Cunningham) Tierney, 98, of Brockton, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2022. Native of Randolph, she was a daughter of the late Donald P. and Elizabeth R. (DeNeill) Cunningham. Geraldine earned a degree in education from Bridgewater Normal School and was a second-grade teacher for 33 years, spending most of her career teaching in Holbrook. She loved the beach and enjoyed time spent in Cape Cod and Florida.

Geraldine was the wife of the late Joseph M. Tierney and Douglas Reade; beloved mother of Karen A. Johnson of Avon and the late Susan M. York; loving grandmother of Christopher Johnson (and Moira) of West Boylston and Meghan Mallett (and Stephen) of Avon; cherished great-grandmother of Kylie and Charles Mallett, and Sophia, Anya, and Connor Johnson; sister of the late Marjorie V. Cavanaugh and Joan McGerigle; and an aunt of Richard, Kathy, and Michael.

All are welcome to visitation Saturday, June 25th from 9-10 a.m. in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 N. Main St., Brockton, followed by her funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. in St. Michael Church, 87 N. Main St, Avon and burial at St. Mary Cemetery, 245 North St., Randolph.
