Geraldine C. (Robert) French

Geraldine C. (Robert) “Gerry” French, 80, of Brockton, died peacefully surrounded by her family on February 12, 2019. Daughter of the late Joseph Oliver Robert and Mary (O’Connor) Robert of Somerville, she graduated from Somerville High School in 1956. Gerry worked for Verizon and was retired after 32 years of service. She was a member of Eastern Star and loved traveling, collecting Matchbox cars, watching NASCAR races especially in Loudon NH, bingo and yard sales. She was the beloved wife of Karl Richard French for 61 years, Gerry was the loving mother of Karl Richard French Jr. and his wife Dont (Edge) of Mattapan, Karen Appleby  Gibson and her husband Michael Gibson of Mansfield, Michael James French and his wife Stacie (Sousa) of Malden, and Stephen Thomas French and his wife Pamela (Randall) of Whitman; devoted grandmother of Jennifer (French) Faria of Braintree, Kelley (French) DeWald of Minnesota, Debra French of Cambridge, Shaun Appleby of Canton, Corey French U.S.M.C. of Yuma AZ, Samantha French U.S.N. of Malden, Nicole Sartra of Taunton and Neal Thomas French of Whitman; great-grandmother of Angell Dessources of Braintree, Kyden Thomas of Braintree, Jameson Appleby of Canton, Mya Sartra of Taunton, Albie Sartra of Taunton and Jaxon DeWald of Minnesota; dear sister of Sr. Joseph Marie Robert of Brooklyn, NY, and the late Joseph Robert Jr., Francis Robert and Patricia Ann (Robert) Killam, and twins Debra Jean and Barbara Ann; she also leaves nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends Following cremation, all are welcome to her memorial calling hours Thursday 6-8 p.m. and 8 p.m. service in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St. Brockton; Friday gather at 1 p.m. for procession to committal at VA Cemetery, Bourne at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to your favorite charity.
