George T. Donovan

George T. Donovan, 77, of Raynham for the past 7 years, passed away at home on August 31, 2023. Born, raised, and educated in Brockton, he was the son of the late George F. and E. Doris (Sheehan) Donovan. George previously resided in N. Easton and East Bridgewater and was a snowbird in Naples, FL for 18 years.

George was employed by T.L. Edwards for 47 years until his retirement in 2010. His favorite pastime after retirement was visiting his close friends and lending a helping hand to Kenny Gourdin and George Haseotes. George enjoyed Cruise Nights, riding his Harley, driving his RV, and playing pickleball. He was a member of the 49ers Club, Club National, and Bertocci Cub.

George was the beloved husband of Barbara L. (MacAfee) Donovan for 20 years and the late Bessie Donovan; loving father of Christopher Donovan and his wife Colleen of Mansfield and Jon Donovan and his wife Sharon of Norton; stepfather of Christopher Macrina and Cynthia Lanciloti of Medway, Mark Macrina and his wife Andrea of Providence, R.I., and the late Richard Macrina; cherished grandfather of Matthew, Myles, Elizabeth, and Sarah Donovan and Sophia and Lilliana Macrina; dear brother of Gregory Donovan and his wife Nancy of West Bridgewater, Christopher Donovan and his wife Sandy of Raynham, and the late Kevin A. Donovan, James Donovan, Bryan Barney Donovan, William Donovan, Michael Donovan, Catherine Pelton, Kerry Donovan, John F. “Jay” Donovan, Denise Crocker, Elaine Cox, and Rosemary Rogan; and an uncle of many nieces and nephews.

All are welcome to calling hours Thurs., Sept. 7th from 4-8 p.m. in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 N. Main St., Brockton, his funeral from Waitt Funeral Home Fri., Sept. 8th at 9:30 a.m., funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Edith Stein Church, 71 E. Main St., Brockton, and burial at Calvary Cemetery.
