Gabriel Adrien Obituary

Gabriel G. Adrien, 69, of Abington, passed away peacefully at home on September 5, 2021. Born in Les Cayes, Haiti, he was a son of the late Carnot Ducena and Yolande Adrien. Gabriel was the beloved father of Darline Cadet and her husband Ramsay of Abington, Andy Adrien and his wife Kait of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Mindy Thomas and her husband Francois of Los Angeles, California; cherished grandfather of Brianna, Elijah, Reille, Aliyah, Leo, and Ava; loving brother of Jean Claude Adrien of Everett, Roland Adrien of Roslindale, and the late Jean Yves Adrien; and an uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Gabriel, known as Gardy, was the firstborn of his mother’s four sons. He took on the role of a provider at a young age and undoubtedly demonstrated true altruism, placing his brother’s needs before his own. He migrated to the U.S. from Haiti in the fall of 1982 and after working several odd jobs for a span of two years, he began working at H.B. Fuller as a Chemical Reactor Operator for approximately 30 years until retirement.

Gabriel was a loving, caring, reliable, and devoted father, one who worked tirelessly to provide a stable and beautiful home for his family. He was relentless in meeting his family’s needs, all the while teaching and illustrating the value of hard work and perseverance to his three children. Although he was a man of few words, his love was unequivocally personified through his actions. He was a valiant leader to his younger brothers, a gentle giant to his cousins, a protector to his family, a reliable worker to his employers, and most of all, an amazing dad and friend to his children. Gabriel will also be remembered by his genuine care and concern for others, infectious smile and laughter, passion for kompa music, game of dominos and/or besigue, and being a jack of all trades who was always ready and willing to lend a helping hand.

Gabriel will be dearly missed by all his family and friends. We thank you for brightening our lives all these years, standing by us in any situation, and always urging us to strive for our very best. We love you and will cherish these memories in our hearts forever.
