Frantz Delva, 61, of Brockton, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on January 19, 2023. Born in Artibonite, Haiti, he was a son of the late Lereste and Heureuse (Malvoisin) Delva. Frantz earned degrees in Criminal Justice and Theology and was a former priest in Haiti. He later worked as a mental health counselor for many years.
He was gifted in singing and writing and loved classical French music. Frantz was also an avid basketball fan, cheering on his local sports team the Boston Celtics. He was well dressed and articulate, leaving a lasting impression on anyone he met. Frantz’s good nature and positive attitude made it easy to be around him and he often put others' needs before his own. His legacy will continue through his children and grandchildren.
Frantz was the beloved father of Amandie Delva of Brockton and Florian Delva and his wife Jenna of Vermont; loving grandfather of Treyven George Sargent-Delva and Kallum Starr Sargent-Delva; close friend of Patricia Forges of Brockton; dear brother of Micheline Delva-Simon, Harry Delva, Maguet Delva, Lineda Delva, Louinel Delva, Fernand Delva, Pierre Richard Delva, Petion Telemachus, Dejean Telemaque, and Nicha Telemachus; nephew of Damase Delva, Olymphise and Masselina Massé and Ynote Malvoisin and an uncle of many nieces and nephews. The Delva, Massé, Élan, Cadet, Garçon, Malvoisin, Louis, Forges, Joseph, Exinord, Vallon, Henrius, Riche, Victor, Fanfan, and Morcy families are greatly affected by his passing.
All are welcome to his viewing Sat., Jan. 28th from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m., followed by a 12 p.m. funeral service in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 N. Main St., Brockton. Private ceremony will be held in Artibonite, Haiti. Reception to follow funeral services from 2-5 p.m. at the Brockton Church of God, 80 Pleasant St., Brockton, MA 02301.
