Francis X. McLaughlin

Francis X. McLaughlin, 75, of Brockton, passed away on July 26, 2026. A native of South Boston, he was the son of the late Gerald V. and Margaret G. (Quinlan) McLaughlin and resided in Brockton since 1980. He retired from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology as a data center manager. His interests included reading, crossword puzzles, and traveling. He was also an avid Red Sox fan.

Fran was the beloved husband of Kathleen A. (Ryan) McLaughlin for 49 years; loving father of Patrick McLaughlin (Valerie), and Eileen Tighe (Andrew) of Peabody; dear grandfather of Valentine, Tayla, and Kieran McLaughlin, and Morgan and McKenna Tighe; and a brother and uncle of many.

Following cremation, all are welcome to his memorial Mass on Wed. August 12th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Edith Stein Church, 71 East Main St., Brockton, MA 02301. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to The Jimmy Fund, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, PO Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168.
