Francis “Bill” Boyle Jr., 88, of Avon, passed away Jan. 13, 2024 at home after a brief illness. He was born in New London, Connecticut and raised in Lowell. In his youth he enjoyed Harley-Davidson motorcycle riding, especially cross-country. Bill was a tree surgeon and later became a crane operator, working for Maltby & Co. and Donnelly Advertising. In recent years he was interested in aviation, radio-operated planes and helicopters.
Bill was the beloved husband of Gloria A. (Avila) Boyle for 65 years, beloved father of Patricia Brendemuehl and her late husband Richard of Arlington and Steven Boyle and his wife Patricia of Brockton, grandfather of Kristin Sloan and Casey Sloan, both of New Hampshire and Ashley Boyle of Stoughton, great-grandfather of Michael Angelo Jr. and Joseph Angelo, brother of Carol Barton of Florida, Nancy Landry of Maine and the late Hubert Boyle and Barbara Marion; and he leaves many cousins, nieces and nephews.
All are welcome to gather on Friday Jan. 19th at 11:30 a.m. at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton to process at noon to his graveside service at 12:30 p.m. at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
