Florence M. “Flo” (Bennett) Day, 82, of Brockton, passed away peacefully at home on April 26, 2022. Born in Boston, she was a daughter of the late Clarence J. and Beatrice (Plantier) Bennett. Flo worked for J.B. Edwards Uniforms for many years, retiring as supervisor. Devoted to her family, she loved cooking delicious meals for them and never missed a special occasion like birthdays and anniversaries. She enjoyed getting her hair and nails done, listening to country music, dancing, going on drives, especially to the Scituate Lighthouse, and watching her favorite sports teams. Flo also loved and doted on her cats. She was the glue to her family and will be greatly missed.
Florence was the devoted wife of the late Richard A. Day Sr.; loving mother of Richard A. Day Jr. and his wife Carly of N.H., Lisa Simione of FL, and the late Donna McNair and Glenn Fredette; dear Nana of Lyndsay (and Tim), Glenn Jr., Gino, Anthony, Adam, Michael, Evan, and Amya; great-grandmother of Austin, Imani, Isabella, and Rayna; sister of Cathy Paress of Plymouth, and the late Clara Bennett and Aline D. Lajoie; and an aunt of many nieces and nephews.
All are welcome to calling hours Monday, May 2, 2022 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a 1 p.m. prayer service at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton. Private cremation. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to American Cancer Society.
