Farah D. Roussel

Farah D. Roussel, 49, of Randolph, passed away on October 8, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, she immigrated to the United States at an early age. Farah was a graduate of St. Clare High School in Roslindale and went on to earn both her undergraduate and master’s degree from Regis College. She was gifted academically and spoke many languages fluently, never missing an opportunity to learn and grow.

Her expertise led to many career prospects, she first worked for Massachusetts General Hospital for 10 years, then at Brigham & Women’s Hospital for 17 years, before landing her dream job at Dana Farber Cancer Institute as the head of their pharmaceutical department. Cancer research was important to Farah and in addition to her studies at Regis College, she earned a clinical certificate from Labouré College of Healthcare.

When her head wasn’t in the books, you could find Farah writing poetry and listening to music. She enjoyed going on long walks and time spent with her family. Although her time here was short, she accomplished so much and left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

Farah was the cherished daughter of Marie L. (Blanc) Benoit of Randolph and the late Robert Roussel; beloved sister of Karen Benoit-St. Fleur and her husband James of Randolph; loving god sister of Sheina Prince-Eugene of Randolph and Steven Senat of Hyde Park; devoted aunt of Kayanná Jaé, Marcovany, Symir, Aaron, Ayden, C.J., and Alexander. Farah also leaves many aunts, uncle, cousins, and friends to mourn her passing.

Family and friends are welcome to visitation on Saturday, October 19th from 9-10 a.m. followed by a 10 a.m. funeral service at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton. Burial to follow at Central Cemetery, 327 North St., Randolph. Live streaming of Farah’s service will begin at 9:30 a.m.
