Dear loved ones and friends,
It is with our deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of Fahissa Miguel Spencer. She passed the morning of December 2nd, 2025 while traveling abroad with her loving husband, David Spencer.
Fahissa was a Registered Nurse who worked at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital of Needham and St Luke’s Hospital of New Bedford. As a dedicated professional, Fahissa spent her entire career bringing comfort and care to many. She graduated from UMass in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in nursing and was pursuing a masters degree in Nursing at Regis College. Fahissa was a champion for higher education and cared deeply for helping others develop. She would never miss an opportunity to encourage others to advance themselves through education in order to better their lives and future.
She was also a pillar in her community. She worked tirelessly to help educate and support newly arrived Haitian immigrants and facilitate their integration. As a person who moved to the States as a young child she herself remained deeply rooted in her culture. She loved the Haitian community, culture, arts and cuisine.
But more than all of these things, Fahissa was the heart of her beloved family and she was the caretaker of many. She was someone who everyone could rely on for help and comfort. Her life was a blessing to us all and her loss is felt by too many to name.
Fahissa was born in Cap-Haitien, Haiti to John Miguel and Evelyne Lecorps, who profoundly grieve her loss. She is survived by siblings Patrick Lecorps, Trishan Vilgrain, Kenny Miguel, Ashley Miguel, Stanley Miguel, and Harvey Miguel, as well as her many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Fahissa Miguel Spencer was the wife and best friend of David Spencer, her dedicated husband, author of this article, and now a man diminished by her loss.
My wife will forever be a guiding star in the lives of those who knew her. We will always love you my heart. We Pray. May God grant you rest and peace and watch over those of us who remain. In Jesus name, Amen.
Family and friends are welcome to calling hours on Saturday, December 20th from 8-9:30 a.m. at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton, her funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at Christ the King Parish, 54 Lyman St., Brockton and entombment at Blue Hill Cemetery, 700 West St., Braintree.
