Ernest S. Watson, 80, a lifelong resident of Brockton, passed away on March 27, 2024. He was the son of the late Percy Watson and Evelyn (Hamquist) Watson-Holbrook. Ernie worked mostly in mechanics at autobody shops and later worked for Brinks. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed hunting and fishing, and had been a member of Holbrook Sportsmen’s Club, Hanson Rod & Gun Club, and Middleboro Sportsmen’s Club. Ernie was the beloved husband of Linda L. (Libby) Watson since 1964 and they were foster parents to Sheryl Gonsalves of Brockton; he is also survived by Linda’s extended family. All are welcome to visitation Wednesday April 3 from 10 to 11 a.m. and his funeral service at 11 a.m. at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St. Brockton followed by burial at Melrose Cemetery.
