Emile W. Rodrigue, 96, of Brockton, passed away on August 24, 2023. Born and raised in Québec, Canada, son of the late Telesphore and Cedenie (Dostie) Rodrigue, Emile moved to Maine before settling in Brockton in 1952. He spent winters in Palm Bay, Florida for almost 20 years.
In his early life, Emile worked in the lumber industry and later worked in shoe manufacturing for many years, working for Knapp, Stetson, and Regal Shoe. He retired from the Brockton Housing Authority as a maintenance worker. A member of Club National in Brockton, he enjoyed snowmobiling, playing cards, and storytelling. Known to his family as #1, he will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.
Emile was the husband of the late Dorothy (Leger) Rodrigue for 43 years and the late Sybil (Baker) Rodrigue for 29 years until her passing in 2022; beloved father of Claudette Howland (John) of Brockton, Roger Rodrigue (Joy) of Berkley, Robert Rodrigue of St. Claire, Missouri, and the late Ronald Rodrigue; loving grandfather of Gayle Perry, Dawn Ellis, John D. Howland, Roger Rodrigue, Sherrie Parsons, Jason Rodrigue, Dereck Rodrigue, Jamie Rodrigue, Dana Rodrigue, the late Lynn Singleton and their extended families; and an uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Following cremation, all are welcome to memorial calling hours Thurs., Sept. 7th from 9:30-11:30 a.m. with an 11:30 a.m. memorial service at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 N. Main St., Brockton. Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to your favorite charity.
