Elsie Loviness of Brockton passed away peacefully on November 14, 2025, at the age of 76 after a long battle with kidney issues. She was the dear daughter of the late Irene Pretty-Miss Lovelace of Trinidad and Francois Augustine of Trinidad. Elsie was the beloved ex-wife of Theonor Ducheine; loving mother of Kurt LaCroix of Trinidad, Tricia T. Ducheine of Brockton; stepmother of Odonel, Germain, Hantz, Frantz and Mydelinne Ducheine of Brockton; and mother-in-law of Chris Gantt. Elsie was a devoted sister of Lynette Samuel, Hamlet, Ken, Keith, and Glenn Lovelace of Boston and Trinidad. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren, and friends.
Elsie was born in Trinidad Tobago, she grew her family in Boston, Brockton and lived in Brockton since 1982. She was a CNA and Home Health Aide. She worked in many nursing homes and a variety of different settings which included the homes of clients, assisted living facilities, and within the homes of loved ones. Elsie was very passionate in raising and encouraging all of us. She will be remembered as a very loving, respectful, funny, friendly person with an engaging personality. She loved, loved, loved wrestling and she could have beaten all the wrestlers in WrestleMania.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday morning, November 25, 2025 from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M., followed by a funeral ceremony from 11 A.M. to 12 P.M. at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton, MA 02301. Private committal.
